James Watson is a member of The Five alongside his one-time classmates Helen Magnus, John Druitt, Nikola Tesla and the now-deceased Nigel Griffin. He participated in the experiments with the Source blood and received an injection of the blood. The injection gave Watson vastly enhanced intelligence and intellect, turning him into the real-life version of Sherlock Holmes. (What this means for other players: Watson is in essence a profiler. While he has the capability to read and dissect most of their motions and words, he plays very close to the vest, so to speak. His mun, however, possesses neither of these abilities and would appreciate details put in tags, or having the ability to talk with you via IM.)

He devoted considerable effort towards solving the "Jack the Ripper" murders in the summer and fall of 1888 and worked closely with the detectives of Scotland Yard to catch the elusive killer. He would often discuss the case with his then-close colleague and friend, one Montague John Druitt, over brandy, unaware that Druitt was the man he was hunting. The revelation that his friend was behind the gruesome murders left him deeply hurt and resentful toward Druitt. During World War Two Watson was a part of the Allied forces, going on at least one misison with Helen Magnus and Nigel Griffin, in association with Nikola Tesla, to prevent the Axis powers from releasing a fire elemental kept in the French town of Carentan. Since then he has headed the London Sanctuary, having limited contact with the others of the Five.
